Silverado Outsells F150; Tundra Sales Plummet

PickupTrucks.com is reporting
that the Chevy Silverado outsold the Ford F-150 in June and the Toyota Tundra suffered a major sales volume dip. Meanwhile, the Nissan Titan is quickly becoming a collectors’ item with only 8,800 sold for the month.

The numbers came from J.D. Power and shed more light on the world of truck sales because the manufacturers’ numbers lump together all the models in the series (ie F-150, F-250, etc) and tout their sales as one larger number. Power took all the different models and strata, breaking them out to show what was moving and what wasn’t.

While Chevy was celebrating a sales win (considering the conditions it is coming in) Toyota executives must have been downing sake when they say that sales of the Tundra went from 76,516 sales in June of 2008 to 36,106 in June of 2009.
