We’re going to be talking lots about SEMA 2013 this week because it is coming like a freight train and we want YOU to know what’s coming, who has surprises in the works, who is thrashing like mad to finish a car, and what companies will be debuting new stuff at the show. While the glitz and glamor of the SEMA show gets most of the attention, the real reason it exists is for companies like Hedman and the rest of the fine BangShift family of sponsors to do business. They roll out products, meet with distributors, establish new places to sell their products, and generally look to increase their company growth in the coming year. Lots of companies are doing something that we REALLY love this year, which is to say that they are rolling out new catalogs! At least two of our BangShift sponsors have new catalogs ready to hit the street at SEMA and Hedman is one of them.

Why do we dig new catalogs? Mainly because new catalogs mean new part numbers, new stuff, and the prospect that we’ll be able to touch said awesome new stuff. We have only be asked to leave a manufacturer’s area by security twice in all the years we have been hitting the show, so we’ll see if we can add to that streak at the Hedman display here in 2013. It goes unappreciated by all except those that have had to do it themselves or work on the process, but catalog creation is an insanely labor intensive process. From classifying the parts and pieces to working on a layout and order to the book to gathering the photography and other “beauty” bits, most guys compare the creation of a catalog to birthing a kid….except the process is normally longer than nine months!

The gang over at Hedman with our pal Marc leading the charge on this project is excited to stat handing these books out at SEMA. We’ll be in line for one because while we love shopping for parts on the interwebs, thumbing through a catalog simply cannot be beat. We’re stoked so many companies still agree with us!
