Money No Object: 1970 Plymouth Superbird In Quad Black

Money No Object: 1970 Plymouth Superbird In Quad Black

So we recently welcomed AllCollectorCars.com into the BangShift.com sponsor fold a few days ago, and Chad suggested that I poke my head in and have a look-see, since I do a lot of Craigslist and eBay hunting every day. I have to say I’m impressed…I typed in “Diplomat” and not only did it bring up a nice example of the 1980s cop car shape, but it also brought up a 1952 Dodge Coronet Diplomat and a 1966 AMC Ambassador Diplomat. That’s impressive. It also managed to find a 1975 Plymouth Road Runner, my needle-in-a-haystack car of choice at the moment. Sweet. Now, what can I find that’ll make me…

Oh. Oh my. Pardon me if my words quit making any sense, but dayum, would you look at that. Real? Fake? Just like anything else you ask that question for, chances are good that you really don’t care so long as you get to play with them. It looks like a Superbird, with that 440 it better sound like a Superbird, and short of it packing a one-leg 7.25 rear axle with 2.21 gears out back, it will move the hell out like a Superbird. To my knowledge, there weren’t any Superbirds painted TX9 Black (don’t skewer me, Mopar freaks, it’s been a minute since I’ve bothered to memorize production figures) but I always thought that it’d look menacing. I was not wrong. Black paint, black vinyl roof (required on Superbird due to the rear window plug setup that needed to be hidden), black interior, black graphics. This warms my black little heart so much. The only way this could be any better is if it was doing a rolling photo shoot with Mike Musto’s “Project Angrier” Dodge Daytona on the banks of Talladega.

    Stolin car.
I build this car. Every nut and bolt. My friend Fred Gildner Sr. And I went in together. My car his money and all my labor. Sadly Fred passed away and his son took the title that was in Fred Sr’s safe but in my name and forged my name into it.
Fred transfered into his name putting a value of $2000 ish onto the bill of sale.
I have called the police in Rancho Cucamonga CA and they could not give a shit. Say it’s a civil issue.
Attorney wants $30 k to go after it.
Don’t buy this car. The seller says he built it. He’s a liar.
