Why is it that as hot rodders and racers we are constantly seeing someone we want, and go so far as to build it completely in our heads, even though there is zero reason that we should actually own it? I’m as guilty of it as anyone. Maybe guiltier than everyone actually. But at least I admit I have a problem. Seriously, some of the most random things have gotten me excited over the years and won’t go away. So when I see one for sale on Marketplace, Craigslist, or Offer Up I find myself dreaming of having it. I need you to understand, that this isn’t me wanting another Camaro or C10 or something. No, this isn’t wanting a logical vehicle that is desirable to everyone. Nope, this is me wanting something that would make most people shake their heads. You know, something like a Cushman…
Don’t you dare judge me!!! You know that you have something like this that you want to. Maybe not an actual Cushman, but something equally as weird and ridiculous.
And if I’m being truthful, there isn’t even something so insanely cool that I want to do to it that it would make it alright. I could lie to you and tell you I want to do a Busa swap on the thing and do giant burnouts, but the truth is any motorcycle engine combo would make me happy in it. Burnouts would be cool, but if it would do 45 mph I’d be pretty thrilled. Okay 60 would be better, but maybe kinda scary. The insane thing I want to do with it is drive it cross country with some buddies who want to do the trip on Minibikes. Just saying. It’s a thing we want to do. But I digress.
