New Stuff: Trick Flow Specialties GenX® 260 Cylinder Heads for GM LS7 Now Available – Huge Power Potential

After spending the weekend at the 2014 Holley LS Fest in Bowling Green, Kentucky, I’m still on a bit of an LS kick, apparently because when I saw this news release from Trick Flow my ears and eyeballs perked right up. Why? Mainly because these heads are flipping awesome and have the potential to support ridiculous levels of power. The LS7 is a mighty piece in stock form. The square port heads were a revelation to hot rodders when those engines started to hit the streets and variations on that theme started to become available soon after. Well, dare we say it Trick Flow has cranked the bar up again with these pieces because they are so strongly and robustly constructed they’ll serve the needs of severe use perfectly. These babies are so serious that Trick Flow offers a six bolt per cylinder pattern head for use on aftermarket blocks along with the LSx offerings from GMPP.

We had seen some stuff regarding this head when we were visiting Trick Flow over the winter and remained sworn to secrecy until this moment. We can tell you that the manufacturing process at Trick Flow is second to none and that these heads were whittled out by some of the more amazing machines we have ever watched work. If you are a serious LS player or someone looking to build a big…and we mean BIG horsepower combo, these heads are your guys. The accessibility to horsepower have have these days continues to get even more mind boggling by the day when we see products like this. What would have been totally weirdo exotica a decade ago is off the shelf now. Evolution, baby!

HERE’S THE SKINNY FROM TRICK FLOW ON THE NEW GenX 260 Cylinder Heads For GM LS7 Combos –

LS fans, here is a sure-fire formula to make huge horsepower. Combine a big bore (4.100 inch and up) engine block with a pair of Trick Flow’s new GenX 260 LS7 aluminum cylinder heads and a decent camshaft, and you’ve got monstrous power in a lightweight package.

Trick Flow improved on GM’s LS7 head design in several ways:
• CNC Competition Ported runners with a premium high resolution surface finish—ideal for all-out airflow and performance throughout the entire powerband.
• Modular one-piece, billet aluminum rocker arm mounts that are removable when using shaft mount rocker arms
• More material added to the A356-T61 aluminum castings for increased rigidity and strength
• Through-deck coolant holes that fit all GM LS gasket and block combinations
• Clearance for 3/8 inch pushrods
• Available 6-bolt per cylinder clamping for GMPP LSX and other aftermarket blocks

Trick Flow GenX 260 cylinder heads for GM LS7 work with all LS7-style intake manifolds. The heads maintain the factory intake and exhaust port locations, valve angles, and valve locations to work with existing LS7-based pistons. Fully assembled cylinder heads include valves, valve springs, steel or titanium spring retainers, valve seals, and die-forged steel valve locks. Stock-style 1.8 ratio LS7 rocker arms with upgraded bearings are recommended for street use. Roller rocker arms recommended for racing applications.
