SEMA 2012 Product Spotlight: Rocket Racing Wheels Owns The Show and Releases Cool New Finish!

SEMA 2012 Product Spotlight: Rocket Racing Wheels Owns The Show and Releases Cool New Finish!

There are a lot of wheel companies at the 2012 SEMA show but the coolest by a long shot are the dudes and dudettes at Rocket Racing Wheels. Their hoops are literally all over the show on some of the most BangShift approved iron populating the Las Vegas Convention Center and there is an especially diverse collection of Rocket Wheels in their booth right off of Hot Rod Alley. It took Chad and I about 10 seconds to find a Rocket equipped car when we got our sneak on into the show on Monday. Outside of the building there are multiple cars like the awesome Caddy and Olds below wearing Rocket Racing Wheels and inside the show there are several others. But we’re here to talk about new stuff and new stuff Rocket has!

Yesterday Rocket unveiled their new RPM 7 Gold/Grey finish that is available on ALL of their wheel offerings, not just what you see below. The RPM7 finish provides a unique aged look to the wheel and is authentic enough that as we approached the booth, it appeared that a vintage magnesium wheel was on display. Of course we were fooled and the Rocket Injector leaning on the display was a modern piece that had been treated with the RPM 7 finish. This really is a neat way to take an already classic looking design and kick it up that extra notch. If you have a gasser themed ride or anything that you are really shooting for an authentic vintage look, this is the ticket. We’re always impressed when companies come up with ways to give their product an entirely new edge without having to literally reinvent the wheel!

Outside of the RPM 7 finish, Rocket also released several new bolt pattern options for several of their wheels in 5×5″ and 5×5.5″ sizes. Those patterns were added to the Rocket Injector, Igniter, and Strike lines. Those two patterns alone cover the Ford 9-inch, GM 8.5″ 10-bolt rears, Dana 44 rears, and Chrysler 8 3/4 axles as well. Those are the most common third members used by hot rodders and muscle car enthusiasts today, so you are shopping for wheels, shop Rocket Racing wheels first!
