Mach 1. Out of all of the sub-model names that the Ford Mustang has received, that is easily my favorite. Mach 1…a product of the late 1960s, which saw interest in supersonic transport aircraft peaking. With the Concorde on it’s way and the Tupolev TU-144 fully copying the program, Mach 1 meant something: speed. For the new SportsRoof Mustang, speed is exactly waht the company wanted to show off. First appearing in 1969, going on hiatus in 1978, and briefly reappearing for 2003 and 2004, the Mach 1 Mustang was the ultimate callout pony. Putting the GT sub-model out to pasture, the Mach 1 started with the 351 2-barrel and went as wild as the radical 428 Super Cobra Jet big-block, and it looked just as fast and flashy as it really was. The interior was the top-end treatment, the Shaker scoop was right at home in the center of the hood, and louvers, spoilers and all the other options could be had as well. But you couldn’t miss the big MACH 1 emblem, no matter what year you’re looking at. 
Now…about getting one of your own. And not just a Mach 1, but a Drag Pack-optioned, 428SCJ-equipped Mach 1 that shows 49,000 miles on the clock, fully restored. How much would that ding your wallet? The ’69 MACH 1 Mustang is by far the best looking 60’s Mustangs ever.I have always entertained the dream of owning one these iconic muscle cars since I was kid. My cousin owned the first one that I have ever seen,the sound of the engine screamed horsepower as he melted the asphalt from under the tires as launched out of th driveway every time he left our house.Hopefully one day I could own a piece history that looks as awsome as they sound.You just can’t beat the style the power or anything else about THE 1969 MACH 1 MUSTANG!
