Summit Stands With KB: Summit Racing Equipment Signs New Multi-Year Sponsorship With KB Racing

(Photo by Auto Imagery) – There’s nothing more vital to the operation of professional racing teams than lasting, mutually beneficial sponsorship agreements. In the case of NHRA pro stock, one of the most long lasting and successful has been the partnership with KB Racing and Summit Racing Equipment. The cars of Jason Line and Greg Anderson have been front runners in the category for years and since 2004 Summit has been bannering the KB racing entries through years with championships and years with incredible competition, like 2018.

This is good stuff. Any time racers are able to continue agreements and keep their racing programs moving forward it is great for the sport. It seems that the red white, and blue will be battling the yellow and black in the pro stock wars for seasons to come!

TALLMADGE, Ohio (August 13, 2018) — Summit Racing Equipment and KB Racing are pleased to announce a new multi-year partnership that extends Summit Racing’s sponsorship of NHRA Pro Stock legends Greg Anderson and Jason Line.

“We are very pleased to continue our support of KB Racing,” said Al Noe, Summit Racing Chief Marketing Officer. “Greg and Jason do an excellent job of representing our company—they make real connections with fans and our customers. The competition in NHRA Pro Stock this year has been amazing, and we are proud to continue our long-time commitment to NHRA and the Pro Stock class.”

“Summit Racing and KB Racing have one of the strongest partnerships in drag racing,” added Jim Greenleaf, Summit Racing Motorsports and Events Manager. “Greg, Jason, and the rest of the KB Racing team are uber-competitive and thoroughly professional; they are great ambassadors for Summit Racing and the sport.”

The Summit Racing/KB Racing partnership goes back to 2004 when Greg Anderson first competed under the Summit Racing banner; the company extended its sponsorship to Jason Line in 2005. Together, the drivers have won six NHRA Pro Stock championships for Summit Racing—Anderson in 2004, 2005, and 2010; and Line in 2006, 2011, and 2016.

“It means a lot that Summit Racing continues to support KB Racing,” said team owner Ken Black. “I’ll never forget that when they came on board with us in 2004, Greg won the very first race we had Summit Racing on the car. We’ve had a great partnership with the great folks over there ever since. I think it says a lot about the future of Pro Stock that Summit Racing has continued its commitment to us, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s in store for the class and our team in the years ahead.”

Anderson and Line also expressed their pride in their Summit Racing sponsorships.

“We’re proud to have that Summit Racing Equipment banner on the door,” Anderson said. “Summit Racing has faith in us and has shown that over the years. That really makes you feel good, and I think our best years are yet to come.”

“It’s certainly an honor to have Summit Racing as our sponsor,” Line added. “We’ve always felt it was a great match because we share the same values and interests. The Summit Racing customer is a hot rodder, and that’s what we are, too. Having the opportunity to represent Summit Racing every day is something that none of us take lightly. The future looks bright, and we’re proud to continue our relationship.”

KB Racing crew chief Rob Downing shared his thoughts as well.

“Being involved with Summit Racing fits our team so well. We know that the Summit Racing folks are just as excited as ever about this class and where it’s headed is great.”

Greg Anderson remains first in the NHRA Pro Stock points standings heading into this weekend’s Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, Minnesota. Jason Line is in ninth place. Being native Minnesotans, both drivers are aiming for a win at Brainerd International Raceway to really kick off the new Summit Racing/KB Racing partnership with a bang.
