You ever see an interior in a hot rod or custom and wonder how they got the contours of the seats to look that way? You know it isn’t a factory seat, or just a covered aftermarket unit, but you aren’t sure how they built their bolsters. This is especially true when you see a seat that looks totally stock but with more shape than normal. I like this look, but it takes some skill in order to make that shape. In this video from Upholstery Tips, he shows us how to take a stock seat frame and make it into something custom. We’re talking fabric backing and all the layers of foam to get it ready to cover. I dig it.
Check it out and see if it inspires you to build your own custom seats. I know I want to try.
“Please God, don’t allow my seats to end up with colors like these”
