How To Get A Beautiful, Long Lasting Paint Job On Your Engine For One Dollar

Painting an engine is a pain in the butt. Do it wrong and you end up painting all kinds of stuff that shouldn’t be, the paint doesn’t stick, or it fades and looks like crap. Personally, I’m not a big fan of factory-colored engines. I tend to paint my engines black or Cast Coat Iron because they look cleaner and nicer longer without cleaning, but I know that a lot of folks prefer their engines in Chevy Orange, Ford Blue, or Hemi Orange. Regardless, there are several things you can do that will help make sure your engine looks as perfect as possible when you paint it.

In this video, Uncle Tony shares his methods for making sure that your engine paint job looks like a million bucks while only costing you about a dollar. Check it out.

Video Description:

Getting paint to stick to your engine and look good for any amount of time is a task easier said than done. Here’s a method we’ve developed over the years that consistently holds up and shines, that involves nothing but simple hardware store goods. Best part, is that the total cost of everything we laid on this Big Block Mopar was around one dollar! Here’s the step by step so you can reproduce these results at home.

Great video on painting the engine. Really liked it. The torch was something I never thought of. Will this work on aluminum cast also? Probably got to watch the torch. Any advice would be great. Thanks

I use Rustolem for all my metal stuff. that shit looks good for ever. I didn’t know about the torch thing I will be trying that method myself. I refurbish old tools and shop machines. check my FB page ( The Country woodwright ).
