This never happens to us! Twice this year I’ve had friends who got engines thinking they were one thing and finding out they were, in fact, another thing completely. The first was Jared from Questionable Garage who bought what he thought was a 6.1 Gen 3 Hemi or some such thing only to find out it was a 410 inch stroker! Yeah, that’s some good stuff right there! So when our boys at Sally’s Speed Shop bought a small block Ford from a museum, only to find out it wasn’t actually a 289, we had to laugh at their good fortune too. So check out the video below to find out what they really got, because it isn’t going to sound right when you hear it.
Video Description:
On this episode of Sally’s Speed Shop, we dig into our museum 289, only to find out it’s not. Turns out it’s a Ford 305! Free cubic inches! And you thought a 305 was a Chevy motor. We see if we can make it run…after 40 years on an engine stand. Things get a little sticky and a little dirty! Will it run? Maybe…but maybe not on this episode. Watch and find out and learn a little about Ford engines in the process.
