Ten Dollars Per Horsepower: Dodge Unveils Their “Power Dollars” Sales Campaign

In the face of the changing face of what the automobile should be and the nearing vision of vehicles as nothing more than electric pods that simply work as electronic taxis that do the work for you, Dodge has been a double-barreled breath of fresh air. Their muscle cars aren’t trying to be lithe little sports cars. They are simply muscle: room for passengers, and enough horsepower to be considered obscene by certain factions of society. They belt out the same raw, barely hidden violence that has enamored gearheads for over sixty years. They sell in a simple structure: one two-door, one four-door and one sport-utility vehicle that simply can. Take your pick…do you need sure-footed all-wheel-drive? Is speed a drug and only the most pure hit will do? Maybe you need a balance in-between. Dodge has it in spades. Their cars aren’t going anywhere and for older designs that constantly get berated for their shortcomings, sell stronger than ever. The company has figured out their way forward and now, are offering up some enticements to not only new customers, but those who have maybe been looking at upgrading.

The program is called the “Power Dollars” campaign, and the layout is simple enough: purchase any 2019 Dodge Charger, Challenger or Durango, and get a discount of $10 per horsepower of the vehicle chosen. That could be almost $3,000 if you went for the all-wheel-drive Challenger GT with it’s Pentastar V6, $4,850 if you wanted to put a Durango SRT into the family truckster slot of your household or almost eight thousand dollars if you buckle and go for the RedEye you’ve been staring at. You have until September 3rd, 2019 to take advantage of the offer.

I love the way Dodge has been giving the finger to all the eco garbage rules many are talking about. Yeah it has an electric motor….it puts the windows down!

So can I get them to make an “SRT 6” Cummins Ram. 2WD 2500 single cab short bed sequential turbo, bigger injectors, cold air intake and about 1000 ftlbs to giant meats on the rear. No chrome and a fifth wheel under a retractable tonneau cover. Call it the Warlock or something. I’ll take mine in F8 green or Petty blue.
