THE FREIBURGER AND FINNEGAN ALAKSAN MISADVENTURE HEADS TO COLORADO

THE FREIBURGER AND FINNEGAN ALAKSAN MISADVENTURE HEADS TO COLORADO

Ok, so yesterday Freiburger and Finnegan revealed what their “Plan B” was after diverting their mission to Alaska south. Apparently they have purchased a car sight unseen in Colorado Springs, Colorado and plan on picking it up today. They will then flat tow the car back to California with the 1968 Ranchero currently sporting one opaque window.

By our estimation, that is a trip of about 1100 miles, some of which should contain some mountain driving. We think that the mystery purchased vehicle will be revealed today. If Freiburger bought it was have no clue as to what the hell it could be but for the sake of that brand new motor and stock brakes in the Ranchero, we hope that it isn’t something too heavy. Some of those mountain downhill grade could get interesting with the brakes heating trying to hold onto two vehicles.

The boys are in Colorado now as they posted a couple photos on their Facebook page at the top of Vail summit, some 12,000ft above sea level. We’ll throw the link to the Hot Rod Magazine Facebook page below so you can keep up with the trip today.

Flat towing a new project car home 1100 miles ain’t a trip to Alaska, but it beats the hell out of sitting on the couch talking about driving your junk and never actually doing it!

I hope those guys know what they are doing. 3000 plus pounds with no brakes coming down grades behind a tow vehicle with 1968 technology brakes…there’s a reason flat towing went out of style.

I’ll bet the plan is Finnegan is going to ride bitch in the towed newly acquired purchase on the downhill portions of the Rockies – just so he can stomp the brakes when needed…we all know these two are not going to be stopped by a down grade (snow will stop them but not a down grade).

What are the odds that whatever they bought has functional brakes? I’m sure they’re tired of guys second guessing them, but they should just buy a trailer.
