An Aussie Burnout For For The Underdog Crowd, Complete With A Blower Off To One Side! This Screaming Six-Cylinder Holden Ute Rules!

There is something so sweet about Ben Falk’s Holden HG ute killing it on the skidpad. Is it the burnout itself…no, that seems to be a skill every Aussie gearhead learns as they grow up. No, the attraction to this green ute is the blown inline-six that is doing all of the work! The engine is a de-stroked 202ci “Red” six that is methanol-injected and breathed upon by a 5-71 supercharger, suitably giving the “no replacement for displacement” crowd the two-fingered salute. What we like about the setup is that not only is it exceptionally effective and demolishing the rear treads, but it seems to be much more tolerant of the abuse that the purpose-built V8s. We are used to seeing fire, flame, steam and other dramatics from the V8 competitors, but the Holden just has a bit of coolant venting going on…considering the activity, that isn’t that bad. And finally, we dig it because Falk brought along a cab full of his buddies for the fun. You know you’re doing it right when the announcer is amazed at how many people got out after the smoke clears!
