Continuing with our Awful Cars, Awful Ads theme today, we have the 1985 Plymouth Reliant/Dodge Aries one-two punch. More like gut punch. Yes, these cars effectively saved Chrysler from sliding under the waves in the 1980s, but man they were junk.

The best part about these ads is the claim that the cars seat six people. Like stacking bodies in a Cadillac trunk, you can get six people in there if they are chopped up correctly. A friend of ours had a Dodge Aries in high school and with four people it was dragging ass like the trunk was stuff with a ton of lead. To find a running example of these cars east of the Mississippi is akin to spotting Elvis at a Burger King.
