Gary Putnam is a few things. First and foremost he is a really, and I mean, really good welder. Secondly he’s a Drag Week veteran who has built one really mean Mustang that is powered by a ProCharged big block Chevy that you can see our feature on HERE. Thirdly he’s a BangShifter that proudly flies the BS colors as you will see in this video. Lastly, like me, the man is obsessed with bacon. Amazingly all of the man’s talents and interests come together in a complete vortex of awesome in this video where he literally cooks bacon with his TIG welder. The genius is that he doesn’t use the welder to cook the stuff, instead he places it on the steel plate that is supporting a welding job he is doing. As Gary is fusing the metal together that plate is getting hotter and hotter right to the point of pure cooking perfection. The man is such a professional he uses tongs to flip the magical pork product to insure that both sides are done to perfection. He then consumes his handiwork.
While there is actually no such thing as “bad” bacon because even crappy bacon is better than no bacon, we’re not sure there’s anything better than bacon cooked by this gearhead method. Perhaps the best part of the whole thing is that there was a moment in Gary’s brain where a couple (because let’s be honest there’s not that many more functioning than “a couple”) synapses fired to complete the thought of this whole operation. While I did not directly confirm what type of bacon is being cooked it looks like some high quality thick cut stuff. I can practically smell it from here.
NOW….HERE’S THE FUN PART. SOMEONE NEEDS TO TOP THIS! SEND US YOUR PROPER GEARHEAD BACON COOKING METHOD!
Yes – but can he build a car out of sausage links?
Gary Pootnam for President and Bacon for everyone!
what he DIDN’T tell you was it was armadillo bacon being cooked! 😉
Mmmm, I sure love carcinogenic welding fumes with my bacon.
I’m no welder but… won’t the grease spatter contaminate and weaken the weld?
no weld spatter when doing tig.
bacon grease actually makes welds stronger, its science
