Can You Build A Big Wheeled “Traditional” Hot Rod From A Fox Body Mustang?

Can You Build A Big Wheeled “Traditional” Hot Rod From A Fox Body Mustang?

We use the term “Traditional” very, very, loosely. And the builder never used that term. So don’t go bitching and moaning. What the The Fab Forums are trying to do is cut up a Fox Body Mustang and make it into a chopped, channeled, and sectioned hot rod. One that is inspired by the Model A based hot rods that are so popular.

None of the rear of this car will be Fox based. Most of the main body will be. And the front end will likely have very custom sheet metal as well. It is going to be interesting, and likely something that people will HATE or LOVE, and that most people will question. We’re good with that, and assume the dudes at The Fab Forum are too.

We’re excited to see how this thing comes together, and are excited to watch them cut and weld stuff since we love cutting and welding so much ourselves. In fact, maybe this will inspire folks to do something cool themselves. Maybe it will inspire us to do something cool.

Hmmmmm

He cut and cut until there was no car left…

I would have taken a mold of the Fox Body and made a fibreglass narrowed and chopped body to mount on a tube frame or better still just adapted the Fox floorpan to fit a Ford UK/Mercury Capri body shell. Now that would be some car to see,,,,

    Thanks for the feature Chad…

The one thing that I know will come from this build is that its going to surprise even those that think they know what I am doing or think they know how it will turn out.

It will for sure be a love or hate build for everyone.
