If there is anything that will make you question whether or not you have pissed off an entity much higher than yourself, a well-aimed lightning strike ought to do it. On the average, your odds of being struck by lightning are about one in 280,000, though if you live in Florida, the Colorado Rockies, or the Southwest during monsoon seasons you stand a higher risk. Even so, it still takes a lucky shot to catch a bolt of lightning, so imagine being the driver of this sports-utility vehicle in Australia. Taking place earlier this year, the truck, which looks like a Toyota to us, isn’t doing anything obviously wrong. It’s just pulling into the intersection when BAM!, a single solitary bolt strikes the truck down. The whole deal was caught on a dash cam, which in turn was promptly used by the dash cam manufacturer for advertising purposes, which we can’t blame them for. It’s not everyday that you receive an instant message about your place in the universe.

Now picture yourself as the fly on the window inside when that goes down. Provided you survived the pressure, shock, flash of light and didn’t get the bug zapper treatment, imagine the first words spoken as the SUV comes to a stop…

(Thanks to Ron Ward for the tip!)
