Long before we knew better, we laughed when heard guys say that they raced karts. We then drove one and soiled our racing suit, so to say that we have lots of respect for the people who race these crazed little bastards wheel to wheel would be an understatement. Virtually all of today’s top racing drivers began their careers in karting. Karts teach important racing lessons like how to mantain speed and momentun, vehicle control, braking, etc. 

Like shrunken formula cars, they turn and stop with ferocity that seems to bend the laws of the universe. That being said, grip is not infinite, as the racer in this video found out the hard way when his kart comes out from underneath him and he is a helpless passenger sitting on top of an unguided missile. The person who posted the video commented saying that the axle in the kart broke, sending him on a crash course with whatever was in his path.

We watched the video a couple of time, but this guy seems to catch some good air after plowing into what seems to be a tire mound or something to that effect. Drivers do no belt into karts so often they are thrown free of the vehicle in an incident like this. Not so for this driver. He stays with the ship all the way to the end!
