Enough Roasting: It’s Time To Build A Trans Tunnel For Finnegan’s Ramp Truck!

Enough Roasting: It’s Time To Build A Trans Tunnel For Finnegan’s Ramp Truck!

Ever since Mike Finnegan performed a Cummins swap on the Chevrolet ramp truck, he’s had issues. Namely, they involve his shoes turning into molten plastic as he develops a unique form of tinnitus that duplicates the sound of a twelve-valve instead of the usual “ringing in the ears” noise. The engine is good…very good. But living with the engine in the truck? Horrible. Would you drive around in a sweatbox in the humid summer months that Georgia is known for in a truck that is actively trying to cook you to a nice roasted level? And before you make your “it’s not that bad” comments, I can assure you there are months where I swear that air conditioning isn’t doing jack squat against the elements.

It’s finally time to finish off the floor of the Ramp Truck. That means a new trans tunnel, sound deadener, seam sealant for the new sheetmetal, and of course, the important moment of testing to see if those improvements made any bit of difference at all. As usual, Mike will showcase the tools he’s used, the products that are being utilized, and just because this is a Roadkill vehicle, there has to be a moment where everything kind of falls apart. It wouldn’t be the same if that wasn’t the case, now would it?
