The Farmtruck Burnout Machine? The Guys Built (And Wrecked) The Burnout Farmtruck At Summernats!

Farmtruck and AZN had a ball last year enjoying the sights and sounds of Summernats, the crazy Australian gearhead get-together that is currently underway. They loved it, but when approached to make a return for 2018, the only way that they were going to return was if they participated in the burnout contest. It was bound to happen, a couple of Americans stepping in to play Aussie games, but speaking personally…I don’t blame them one bit, it looks like the perfect platform to go out of your head while you decimate some vulcanized rubber. The guys bought another Chevrolet C10 and shipped it across the Pacific, and in partnership with the Canberra Institute of Technology, turned it into a near-duplicate of Sean’s infamous street sweeper. The truck was ready to go and was slotted in for a wildcard entry into the Last Chance Wildcard Shootout…this was the only way that the unqualified Chevy would have had a way to compete in Burnout Masters. And that’s when, according to AZN, that the power steering played up. It wasn’t for a lack of trying, and for a first effort things seemed promising, but the concrete does not forgive and once, twice, three times an impact left the nose of the C10 looking pretty crimped up. We don’t know if they will keep going for the rest of Summernats with the burnout truck or if it will have to spend some time at CIT getting straightened out first…

(Thanks to Dave Arnold for the tip!)

It’s a shame it didn’t crash & burn. I’m really tired of the Street Outlaw stuff. I don’t know what happened, but they lost me last season. I thought Lutz would keep me hanging on, but it gets old after a while. Same for Ass Monkeys. Not the same without Sue & Aaron. Ditto for Wheeler Dealers, no Edd no me. Guess I’ll just watch old reruns on Velocity. Maybe a new show called Bangshift, patterned after 60 Minutes. Have four hosts do four different stories on real happenings in the world of hot rodding every week.

Hey, I’ll even do the Andy Rooney part at the end of the show and rip off Family Guy with a segment called “what grinds my gears”. I’m old enough, and cranky.

I think you forgot to pack talent/driving skills. LOL
