This is one of those videos that gearheads find fascinating and the rest of the world wonders what’s wrong with us. Proud BangShift sponsor Detroit Speed and Engineering put a Replay XD camera on the chassis of their 1970 Camaro to show just how hard the suspension and brakes work when a car is being pushed hard on a road course. The result is two minutes of awesome mechanical viewing.
The Camaro has (of course) a full DSE front subframe and DSE suspension components all around. It is equipped with JRI shocks, Baer Brakes and it has BFG tires on it. There’s lots of neato stuff happening here. First, you should pay attention to how the suspension is working as you hear Kyle Tucker either hard on the gas or brakes and when he is cornering. Also, pay attention to those massive Baer brakes. If you ever wanted a close up look at how much punishment brakes take on a balls out handling machine like the DSE Camaro, this is your chance. Those babies look about molten after a couple laps!

Love that video! I’m always impressed by how hot the brakes get under heavy use on a road course.
