“Quickcrownvic” took one look at his Ford Crown Victoria and sighed. The 4.6L V8 just wasn’t doing the trick anymore. At maybe 240 horsepower on a good day, there just wasn’t the kind of power under the hood that he craved. So, in the spirit of any hot rodder, he looked at options and almost immediately he had his answer: the supercharged 5.4L V8 from a Ford Lightning would fit nicely, and with 380 horsepower and torque figures well into the 450 ft/lb range, there would be plenty of pick-up-and-go for the big barge. Sure, the supercharger sitting on top of the engine would be in the way a little, but raise your hand if you would feel bad about hacking a hole in a Crown Victoria’s hood to fit a blower…nobody? Thought so. While this footage shows the car with an automatic, it was later converted to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. Sure, the car is fun, but fun really works out when you can share it with friends…and there’s plenty of room for friends in a Crown Victoria!
That blower noise!
The Crown Vic is to me the car of choice of police forces all over America and this crazy engined example could have been used as an extreme pursuit vehicle. But not until the suspension was stiffened as the way it bounces around made watching the video for more than 5 seconds impossible due to extreme sea sickness….
Thank you for sharing the videos! Very much appreciated!
