Hilarious Video: Watch A Heavily Modified Mobility Scooter Hit 70mph At Santa Pod

If we have proven anything over the last couple days, it is that the English have a hammerlock on weird when it comes to the drags. Weird not being used in a bad way, but as a term of endearment. If the little postal van was too big for you, how about a freaking mobility scooter, you know the seat with handlebars that elderly or disabled people cruise around in. You can see them in supermarkets and amusement parks or just rolling down the sidewalk.

Colin Furze saw a mobility scooter and thought it would be the perfect platform for an insane miniature hot rod. Using a small 125cc motorcycle engine and the corresponding transmission, Furze created the world’s first mobility scooter that could kill someone via high speed impact. Of course the next logical step after building something like this is to get some performance data. Furze got the green light, both literally and figuratively to run the contraption down the strip at England’s Santa Pod Raceway. The results were documented in the video below. Driving this thing at 70mph has to be terrifying in ways we cannot even imagine. That being said…where do we sign up?

Press play below to watch the world’s fastest mobility scooter….and it is pretty fast!

DAMN!! He stole my idea! LOL. I have to deal with those things all day long at my job and have thought about just putting a huge electric motor and a big car battery. I’m surprised he used the stock solid rubber wheels, I’d use some go-kart wheels and tires that wouldn’t come apart at over a hundred. No wonder I can’t get the junk I already have built, I’m too busy thinking up silly crap like this.;-D
