Liggett’s Vintage Lund Jet Boat Needs Some Love: Repairs Include Steering Cable, Fuel Lines, & More. Vintage Boat Goodness.

When Liggett sold his old boat and was able to score this awesome vintage Lund, I was excited. This boat really stands out because it is so clean and original for its age. When you see this thing in person, it really does take you back. Lund didn’t make these boats for very long, but the styling was so period perfect. It’s small block powered, jet driven, and the interior is throwback perfect and in amazingly good shape.

Check it out.

Video Description:

The 1974 Lund Tempest II GT jet boat I bought last summer has sat since my first outing with it. I had found several problems that needed addressing before the boat would be fun to take back out on the water. First, the steering was super stiff and hard to turn. Second, the throttle linkage finicky and not easy to get the boat started. Neither made for a safe or a fun time when boating.

When I uncovered the boat this past summer, and started it for the first time, I found a few other problems that came while sitting. Namely, the carburetor was leaking all over the engine. Not safe. I also wanted to replace all the fuel lines on the boat as they were old and getting hard. Plus, I wanted to upgrade the old stereo system that was in the boat.

Follow along as I try to fix, repair and upgrade everything I found in order to have a safe, reliable, and fun boat to use during the sunny summer days on the lake.
