Morning Symphony: Mopars Making The Donuts

Morning Symphony: Mopars Making The Donuts

Okay, this pretty much qualifies as a gift to myself, but every now and then you can justify that course of action. Gratuitous Chrysler-powered donut making machines tearing up a purpose-designated pad somewhere in the Nordic region as if it was the side parking lot of a high school circa 1977? Yeah, we’re all about that kind of action. It’s not like the Dodge Coronet, Plymouth GTX and Plymouth Road Runner here are just simple beaters…all three are really decent pieces, but as we have preached in the past, there is no reason to just park them and let them sit and do nothing. These cars were purpose-built to be powerful, to be fun, and to appeal to drivers who enjoyed cutting loose every now and then. Why should they be kept as pretty ornaments that can be moved at will? The reason these kinds of machines are desired in the first place is because of antics just like this. Those who were there when these were just old cars remember. Those who grew up past that prime might have seen the odd survivor clinging to it’s original form before the restoration movement swept most of them up and turned them into a rehash of their new car lot selves.

Happiness? The only way this would be better is if I was behind the wheel. That Coronet is calling my name…
