Movie Night at Finnegan’s! Check Out Some Of His Old Drag-Boat Racing Footage!

It’s no secret that Mike Finnegan’s first love is drag boat racing, and it runs deep…it has to, for someone who was living in Southern California and racing on the water in Arizona. Even with Hot Rod, Roadkill, his transplant to Georgia and everything else that has taken over his life in the last few years, Mike is still into racing boats in the quarter-mile on the water. We’re talking well over triple-digit speeds with a nasty mill roaring behind your ears. That isn’t something to take lightly…if something, anything goes wrong, the boat operator is going to go skipping across the water’s surface like a thrown stone, and chances are good that it will hurt more than a little bit. Put it together though, and you’re talking eight second quarters at speeds pushing 120-130 miles an hour.

For this episode of Finnegan’s Garage, which we suspect was shot while the weather in the Southeast was somewhere between deluge and “wrath of God”, we get treated to the history of Mike’s drag boat history, as well as some old footage of Mike racing a nitrous 502 Chevrolet-powered Cheyenne at Lake Elsinore in California around 2009-2010. Come on into the man-cave attached to the side of his actual shop, grab a beer and check out footage of Mike before a camera in his face was a common occurrence!
