When we ran a video showing a roots blown 345ci International Harvester V8 on the dyno yesterday, we thought that we had found the pinnacle ‘Binder performance motor. It only took a couple of hours for our readership to prove us wrong with a link to video showing a 345 with EFI and an awesome remote mounted Eaton blower that looks to have come from a GM V6 product.
While we don’t know how much power it makes, the fact that the engine has EFI, a custom intercooler for the blower, half a mile of induction system tubing and a serpentine belt sourced from God knows where, we dig it just as much as the dyno video engine.
It is really cool to us when someone decides to head off the beaten path with something like this. People who don’t get it will deride the time and work for an engine that makes less power than an easier, cheaper alternative. Screw ’em. Stuff like this engine is more about the journey of actually doing it than the end product.
