That Crazy Brit Is Back! Colin Furze Hops Up His Kid’s Scooter With A Remote-Controlled Turbine!

That Crazy Brit Is Back! Colin Furze Hops Up His Kid’s Scooter With A Remote-Controlled Turbine!

How do you keep the attention of a young child focused for longer than three minutes? I’m not about to throw a suggestion out there…if anything, I could use the advice for the moments I have to deal with young children myself. I know that exciting and fast works in a pinch, though, so bring on the loud, the noisy, the fast…oh, crap, is that a lawyer being followed by a social worker? Great, just what I needed. I guess little Timmy isn’t going to find out just how fun a $500 Ford Fiesta, a Sawzall, and an old logging road can be today. Sorry, kiddo, back to the smartphone for you.

In today’s lexicon, it’s called “free-range parenting”…or, for anyone older than their mid-30s, what it’s called when you don’t hover over every last thing the kid does, when you can trust them to go and play and do on their own. It doesn’t exist much anymore. People get jailed for that kind of thing. So instead of letting the kids go catch crawfish out of the creek or ride their bikes until the streetlights come on, you have stupid ideas like playdates and parents who look up criminal histories of other parents before play can commence. Give me a break.

So your kid has to be supervised, right? Parent involved, right? And you don’t want to be doing a ton of running after the brat as a parent, right? Leave it to the unhinged Colin Furze to help you with that situation. He’s got a mini-me of his own, and the little one loves his three-wheeled scooter. What kid didn’t love a scooter at one point or another? Well…given Colin’s penchant for messing with things and his radical, mad-scientist approach, modifying the scooter to accept an electric turbine engine you’d normally find in a remote-controlled aircraft seems kind of tame. But we highly doubt that is a problem, given that his five-year-old is the passenger. Or that this was a kind of test run for a new project…

Man, that guy has skills. I don’t know anything about him or what he does for a living, but any company, (or defence contractor), that does innovate engineering solutions would benefit from his energy and enthusiasm. BTW, that child is truly lucky to have him as a father, and the boy is obviously excited and onboard with his dad’s creations. Hopefully Colin can shield his son from the hyper-nanny state that the once great UK has become and continue to raise him as a free spirited young man.
