The Parting Shift: Coolest Gasser Video Freaking Ever Edition

After watching this video 10-20 times and still loving every second of it, we’re not sure if we’ll ever be able to find anything as good for our weekly Parting Shift blog item. In this video we ride along in an old gasser. Let’s qualify with, we ride in an old gasser when it was a new gasser, we’re guessing in the 1960s. The sound leads us to believe it is small block powered, and the fact that this dude is winging the motor and pulling dry hops at the starting line pushes the video into sublime cool territory.

The view is primarily of the crude scoop on the car and of the trees lining the strip. We have no idea where the video came from, or what strip it was shot on. The black and white view is grainy and dark. This is the Zapruter film of four speed greatness.

The watermark on the video denotes that this is footage from a piece by Jim Amos’s Bee On Video. Jim is a member here at BangShift so we hope he jumps in and lets us know where we can buy the video that features this clip. If you don’t own any of Jim’s stuff you should, especially if you are a freak about nostalgia drag racing. His stuff is amazing.

This is an amazing video…hit the play button below, drop the hammer and row the gears!!!
