The Parting Shift: Pulling Lenco Levers With the Front End in the Air!

The Parting Shift: Pulling Lenco Levers With the Front End in the Air!

Steve Clukey is a long time New England drag racer. He’s owned his Duster since it was brand new, and he has been beating it like a rented mule from day one. It has always been a stick shift car and we have seen it with two different crash boxes now. You’ll see Steve yanking the handles on a four speed Lenco in this video. Previously the car ran a G-Force unit.

The car is a low nine second piece powered by a 380ci Mopar small block. This is a bored and stroked 340-cuber that makes a dyno proven 700hp. The little bastard is a buzz saw and the car itself is immaculate.

As you’ll see in the video, it pulles majestic wheelstands on virtually every lap. So long they are that Clukey often finds himself slamming second gear while still in mid flight! Pay close attention to where the car is when Steve grabs second to get a sense of just how long this baby hangs the hoops. Also, crank the sweet screaming engine noises up to 11 on the volume dial!

Grabbing gears with a screaming small block…what’s more BangShifty than that?

He’s pointing because the dial in on the board was wrong. He is gesturing to the starter to read his dial in and tell the tower to fix it.
