We have long loved miniature engines here at BangShift. These creations are the result of talented minds who can also translate their engineering ideas into tangible objects and most of these things are machined in small home shops with the work being done by hand. Similar to watch making in may ways, the enthusiasts that build these engines are all about the minute details. They are also all about making them run. That’s what makes them extra special. It would be one thing if they were models but in reality they are tiny little living, breathing power plants and some of them are not so tiny.
These are not all “Harley” engines. There are some that you’ll recognize as Harley-Davidson inspired but others have things like desmodromic valve train layouts and several of the engines look like they are designed to emulate designs from the earliest years of the 20th century.
As it normally is with these things, the sounds that the engines produce are smile inducing. The larger models, at idle anyway, sound exactly like their full size brethren. When the throttles are cracked open, they sound like their larger brethren with a mouthful of helium.
You’ll dig this video. They are all V-twins but every one of these engines is someone’s pride and joy project and they are all different. Amazing!
