Unbreakable: Two And A Half Minutes Of A Volvo Wagon Surviving Incredible Wrecks And Staged Crashes

Unbreakable: Two And A Half Minutes Of A Volvo Wagon Surviving Incredible Wrecks And Staged Crashes

The cliches have been barfed out so many times we feel like a crappy comedian retreading material when we even mention them. Volvos run forever. You can’t kill a Volvo. The safest cars are Volvos. You’ve heard them and you can disagree with them but you’d be 100% wrong. All of the cliches in this case are true. Look, the company has a goal of no one dying in one of their cars by like 2020 or something. That’s an incredible, if not entirely nuts goal.

This video certainly backs up the “unkillable” identity of Volvo because it is 2:30 of a single red Volvo wagon being jumped, smashing into stuff, crashing, and otherwise being subjected to treatment so harsh and violent that the heap is left as a tattered remnant of itself by the end….but it still runs and drives. We’re having a hard time trying to figure out what the most violent thing they actually do to it here. From the jumps, to the high speed rear end collisions, on purpose barrel rolling, and general wanton destruction the tough bastard takes it all and keeps on trucking. This car looks like a bar patron that decided to open his yapper up to Mike Tyson and ended up leaving with a rearranged face….free of charge!

Idiot wearing an open motorcross helmet that said “Sure, I’ll wreck that car over and over in a junkyard” gets my vote for Darwin award winner.

There has to be some kind of major reinforcements on the front end. I don’t buy into the fact that after all those crashes, the front never buckles. Not even enough to bust the radiator.

A friend had one of those brand new, hard to believe they all eventually end up like that.

Still one tough car, the chassis didn’t deform much until the rollovers started – then it still ran good enough to drive away.

Pause at around 2:22 and scan forward. You can see a racing seat and some sort of reinforcement.

That thing is built like a tank! did not even knock the front end out of alignment,or puncture the radiator or oil pan.
