V8 Van Does Burnout, Gets Dizzy, Falls Over Sick And Pukes At The Crowd

Anyone who has surfed YouTube with “Aussie Burnout” in the search bar (or is Australian) has probably seen this particular  van before. Nicknamed “TOASTR”, the micro machine is packing a highly pissed-off V8 and always looks to be on the verge of rolling over every time it swings the tail around. Unfortunately, Summernats 26, the van did just that. After making a counter-clockwise spin the van rolls onto it’s side, and for reasons we can’t fathom. the driver puts his foot down with the van in gear. The transmission then explodes in a grand fashion toward the stands, with pieces and bits falling into the risers. Once the smoke clears you can easily see just how much of the transmission is now out on the ground, and that doesn’t even compare to what made it into the stands. Check out the videos below, and don’t forget to duck.

Holy Crap, in the 2nd video those trans parts had some hang time! You can actually see some of the steels fly right past the camera!

You now if that had happened in the US it would of made national news and the guy behind the wheel would be in custody. Then there would have been so many lawsuits against the driver and promoter that the van would have went down in a blaze of glory…..I think the driver thought that he could the van to break dance for the crowd once on it’s side…oh well didn’t work. Never does.

In the first video, when the tranny ‘splodes, I thought “hugh, was that a synchro flying at the camera?”
Evidently it was. That was so cool!

The throttle jammed wide open after it tipped over, rather than the driver burying his foot into it. Good news is he is back with a fully repaired TOASTR and ripping off Burnouts until his rubber-filled lungs are content.
