The Chevrolets are being dinged up at an impressive rate recently. Last week we showed you video of a Corvette owner burying his car onto the guardrail at the drags before ever making the starting line and now we’re showing you a Camaro getting torn to pieces. The advantage that the Camaro driver, Tyler McQuarrie, has is that his wreck actually happened in the field of battle as opposed to the entryway to the field as the Corvette’s did. This crash happened at the Formula Drift event held last weekend at New Jersey’s historic Wall Speedway. Wall has been open since 1950 and for the purposes of this video, it has the perfect name. We’ve got multiple video angles to check out. The carnage is no bueno.
The Go Pro sponsored Camaro of McQuarrie looks to be pretty new and it is lined up next to a full-tilt looking BMW 3-series driven by Chelsea DeNofa. The BMW is an older body style but since we’re thinking that these are highly modified machines, that body doesn’t mean a whole lot. As both cars launch off the line and speed to the first corner they set themselves up to slide through it, but they both run into the same issue.
As they fry the rear tires, their momentum carries them right up the banking and hard into the wall. The Camaro hits first and is launched up on two wheels before the BMW shows up on the scene and adds to the destruction. The Camaro’s rear is torn virtually off, but it manages to roll sadly down the front straight. The BMW is all piled up and sits with a smashed front end in the corner.
Drifting = harder than it looks.
Press play to see drifting wreckage that involves a 5th Gen Camaro and a BMW!
Dare I write it, but the Camaro looks better after the shunt.
looks like they both hit the same banana peel.
such a stupid ` sport ‘ (although I cringe to even dignify it by calling it a sport) fast n’furious has got alot to answer for.
