Watch The Baddest Ass Olds Powered 1967 Olds 442 Make More Than 1,450hp To The Tires! Absolutely Awesome

Oldsmobile fans, bow to your new master. Gene Newton’s absolutely shag nasty 1967 Olds 442 has laid the hammer down and we have the video to prove it. The car has been at DMC Racing in Halifax, Massachusetts for a modicum of updates and upgrades and since those things were completed it was time to see exactly what kind of snot the BTR Racing Engines constructed 425ci Oldsmobile engine was capable of making on the chassis dyno. This is officially the hardest core Oldsmobile engine we have ever heard of, seen in person, or watched in a dyno video (we’re not counting Keith Black Olds engines).

What makes this motor such a flamethrower? It is like a hall of fame Oldsmbile mill. It all starts with an unobtanium NASCAR spec Olds block that was made in the 1970s. These siamese bore creations were only produced in a volume of 2-400 and racers like AJ Foyt had their hands on them. To use a crude phrase, this is the brick shithouse of Oldsmobile blocks. Speaking of strong, a Moldex crank serves as the long arm for the rotating assembly. Riding on top of the foundation that the block provides are a set of Batten heads. CJ Batten’s Olds heads are the stuff of legend and they aren’t exactly “new” pieces. Despite their age they flow amazingly well and even in naturally aspirated form they can support significant horsepower. FAST XFI fuel injection delivers the fuel and the boost is being crammed into the engine by a pair of Bullseye 75mm turbos making 27psi. This whole package equates to a bomb capable of making more than 1,450 horsepower on the dyno rollers. It pulls some major league RPM and makes a wail that they probably heard three towns over. Lest you think Gene started skimping behind the engine, the motor is backed with an equally bad ass Rossler TH210XHD three speed automatic transmission.

In the land of LS-everything this Olds (which we hear will be street driven and drag raced) can romp and stomp and destroy with the best of them. If you live in Maine and think you have some heavy duty street car, avoid this Oldsmobile like the freaking plague. He’ll leave you with emotional scarring that will require years of therapy and leave you muttering, “But…But…It was just a big old Oldsmobile….How did this happen?!”

    1. Gene Newton

That’s not a 67 425 motor. 425 was a big block Olds. This is a siamese NASCAR block that’s bored to 4.129 with 4 in stroke. It actually works out to 428 cu in.
