Watch the BangShift Sticker Equipped Elephant Hunter Scout Gasser Break the Wheelie Bars and Go Vertical at Byron Dragway!

Dave Pelissier is a BangShifter with a hella cool machine. His 1963 International Scout has graced our pages before. Originally built as a street machine in western Canada with a Hemi in the front, Pelissier revived the truck with small block Chevy power and now drag races it all over the place. While he’s still based out of western Canada, Pelissier towed 16 hours each way to Illinois and raced his truck at Byron Dragway’s Meltdown Drags last weekend.

The truck ran in the 10.80s all weekend and then the guys decided to have some fun by cranking the bars up and allowing the Scout to really reach for the sky. After a couple of high ‘stands, the wheelie bars broke, allowing all four tires to nearly leave the ground and causing the Scout to land very hard from the near vertical launch. According to Dave’s YouTube video, the front axle was bent, a shock and shock mount were destroyed, and the driver’s side spring broke. We’re surprised that it didn’t bust one of the wheels off, too!

Look at the rear window before he launches to see the BS sticker proudly displayed! Woot!

Press play below to see the biggest wheelie an International Scout has pulled anywhere, ever!

You guys are awesome… too bad I had to break the little beast to get featured again but still… Awesome !!

The Meltdown event put on at Bryon by the Fugitives car club is beyond description. 2 days of Vintage drag racing with over 300 cars making passes. Between the racing, displays and car show it was almost too much to take in.

On Bangshift…twice… You guys rule !!

Dang, it almost looked like it came away unscathed, with the exception of the driverside lean.

Looks as though he may have crunched the drivers-side front suspension. Too bad, cool lil truck!
