Earlier this week we showed you a couple angles of Jeff Wild’s massive wheelstand and crash at Cedar Falls Raceway last weekend. Wild and a couple of pals were making exhibition passes a la Byron Dragway World Power Wheelstanding Championships and unfortunately for Wild, his Buick ‘vert got sideways and into the barrier. After hitting the guardrail, the car slid on top of it and then rolled violently, destroying itself.
Wild had apparently owned this very car since high school, so it hurts even more to watch it go out in a blaze of destructive glory. Apparently plans are already in the works to build an exact replica of this car, although we’re not sure how many wheelstand contests he’ll use it in once completed. This is the best angle and highest quality video of the crash we have seen thus far. Watching the car come straight down the track, it becomes immediately apparent how Wild couldn’t see exactly where he was on the track and the car’s movement to the left was subtle enough to keep him on the gas too long.
Press play and watch the best angle of Jeff Wild’s massive crash to surface yet!
Thanks to SuperBuickGuy for the tip!
