The 2010 Shakedown at E-Town produced a raft of amazing performances as well as some truly scary wreckage. The most major crash involved Benny Alphonso who was on a solo run and impacted the wall at top speed passing through the traps at the top end of the track. The last report we heard had Alphonso out of critical condition and recovering from back surgery to repair damage to a disc from the wreck. 

Alphonso’s crash was so hard that the rest of the evening’s program had to be cancelled because the wall was damaged far more than could be repaired immediately to restart the racing program.

John Nobile is a guy who may be getting a complex about this race. Last year he suffered a huge top end wreck, and this year trouble just off the starting line saw the car he was driving cross the track, hit the wall and slide on the roof for some distance.
