Wisconsin Mopar Guy Indicted for Fraud and Money Laundering Through Car Sales

Sometimes you have to wonder where all the money comes from in high-stakes muscle car buying and selling. In this case, it may have all gone into a big shell game played by Fred Englehart of Englehart Performance in Elkton, Minnesota. He has been indicted on three counts of wire fraud, plus some others for money laundering, fibbing to a financial institution, and possessing a short-barrel shotgun.

Appearantly Englehart is well known in the Mopar world, and did a lot of trading with high-end muscle cars, but is being accused of collecting the money without delivering the cars. He got cash from buyers under the guise of “investing” it in cars for them, but seemingly used the money to buy his own real estate, instead. Reports say he also had cars on his property that he claimed were his, but that weren’t.

Maybe some BangShifters have been to the annual show held at the Englehart Performance shop. There’s a video of it below. We presume there won’t be any more of them.
