This is a video that will make you smile and it’ll also serve as a reminder that there was an era when someone could walk into a car dealership and essentially order whatever they could dream up from a car company. These were not the days of selecting “option groups” or “packages” these were the days of sitting down with a salesman and checking boxes for just about any piece of equipment you could ask for on a car or truck. Case in point is this vehicle talking about the 1967 Dodge camper special truck. You could be driving off the lot with not only the truck, but the camper installed in the back and even the damed boat behind it! Yes, Chrysler made boats!
The ad itself is cool too with the family camping and hand hanging out in the little slide in unit. The interior footage sure seems to indicate a more generous volume of space than we have ever experienced inside a slide in camper unit before though! The best part is that the truck was a giveaway used to draw people into Chrysler showrooms. We’re wondering if the truck is still out there somewhere?
