It used to be that if you were serious about making power and doing real tuning, you took your engine to the dyno shop and bolted it to the engine dyno. It wasn’t cheap, but well worth it because you got real power numbers, could make sure nothing leaks, and then know that the engine was right before putting it in your car or truck. And then chassis dyno tuning became the thing because it was cheaper, easier, and quickly became more and more available. In recent years jillions of folks test and tune vehicles on a chassis dyno and Wheel Horsepower has become the number everyone cares about.
So what do you do if you bolt on parts that make power on the engine dyno, but don’t on the chassis dyno? Richard had that happen recently, and he’s going to show you what he did to see gains at the tire.
