With the fender flares trend coming back in a big way, we figured we’d share this cool video from the guys at Eastwood, that shows you just how to do it. The fender they use is an early Mustang, but the same principal works for just about any steel fender really. If you take a look at this video you’ll be inspired to get out the cutoff wheel, tin snips, welder and a few scraps of sheet metal. We were, and we’ll be flaring something soon! And for those of you wanting to know how to build fiberglass flares for fiberglass or steel cars, stay tuned because we are working on that too!

Nice video , could have done without the canned music . Cutting , welding , grinding IS the music ..
I really enjoy videos like this. A 4 minute video becomes a rest of the day daydream on what to try this on
An OK way to do a small lip extension, if that will really help fit your tires. At the RR you need to worry about the inner fender too keeping in mind the inner-outer joint is an important part of the body structure on most vehicles. Larger tires on a lowered car are gonna need layout time, new lips made, more sheetmetal and some real hammer/dolly/wheeling work…
…but yeah, there’s the place to start with. Quick, clear, video builds some enthusiasm. It’s nice to see flares coming back.
ROFLMAO boy it’s going to be a riot watching people try this DIY and find out metal warps when welded and them trying to figure out “what the he)) do I do with all these waves in my fender.”
Having bends on either side of the welded area helps isolate warpage, what you get can be worked out w/ hammer and dolly as you go. Or if it’s easier, don’t try metal work.
Dude I can do it and bet I have welded more sheetmteal than you ever will and what I was saying it’s NOT a DIY job for beginners.
