What is boost response? Well, it is the rate at which you get a turbo to spool. Think of it as the measurement of turbo lag I suppose. Some engine and turbo combos spool very quickly, and others more slowly, but it is more than just the size of the turbo and the size of the engine that determines how quickly it will come up on boost. That’s where doing boost response testing on the dyno can really help you determine which camshaft really is right for your application.
