Karl from Make It Kustom is back at it with another video that shows just how much you can shape metal with simple tools. In this video, you’ll see three simple methods for shaping metal using hand tools. There are no trick tools in this one. But even without trick tools, the principles of how metal behaves and reacts, in order to make it take the shape that you want, are key. You have to follow these principles and understand how the metal will react to what you do to it. I feel like this kind of technique is what makes you better when you get to use the fancier tools.
If you understand what hand tools are doing to metal structure, then understanding what the fancy tools are doing will be even easier. But enough of that.
Watch the video, make yourself some tools, or go order them, and then get after it and shape some metal.
