(Photos by Darryl Daniels) – Our man in Australia Darryl Daniels had send us a load of great photos from the Uraidla Hot Rods and Classics picnic a while back and then a dog ate our homework so we’re super late getting these posted but here’s the good news. The same stuff that was super cool back when he shot these photos is super cool now. The Uraidla Hot Rods and Classics Picnic is a fantastic event that brings together a ton of pre-1967 Aussie classics as well as American cars of any age or vintage. From full on race cars to hot rods, muscle, and other cruisers this is about green grass, good food, and killer iron.
This was the 13th year that the event was held and it has grown in presence over the years to become one of the best known and best attended hot rod events in South Australia. More than 450 cars showed up and thousands of spectators took in the show. As we sit here in the frozen north, seeing all that green grass and all these cool cars are bringing us hope for the Spring to arrive soon.

It was so bloody hot that day around 40c if I remember!
G’day Sharky!! nice photo’s – while I was looking thru them I thought ` how did I miss Uraidla?’ then you mentioned the 40 degrees… (104 F) – yep, I wimped out!! My jaw dropped when I saw piks of `She’s Ace’ – I idolised that car in the 70’s, thought it was the best thing since sliced bread! (Its an Aussie FJ Holden for our US readers)
Yep , G’day John , longtime no see , Shes Ace originally ran Gogomobile seat that I sold out of my Dart. This car looks just as sharp as the original too.Romano has done a great job on it.
