Yesterday I posted the photo sequence of Chad burning the tires off of our rental car at Palm Beach International Raceway. Because he did the burnout with the air conditioner on accidentally, the van funneled smoke from the tires and engine compartment into the passenger area, effectively filling it to the gills. The burnout would have probably gone right to the cords of the tires, but Chad could not breathe, so in the interest of not dying he called it quits and opened the doors.

The photo below shows a shot of the back of the SUV we had rented and most of the smoke has yet to vent. As you would expect, the inside of this thing smelled like a tire dump fire. We grabbed a couple of air fresheners, jammed them into the vents and let the air run for a couple hours to try and knock the smell back. When we dropped it off the next morning the car smelled like a tire dump fire next to a perfume plant. The rental car guy’s smeller must have been busted because he had zero comment.
