(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – The concept of a big event in a small town isn’t new. Many big-time car gatherings have been centered around a small community. Cynthiana enthusiasts saw an opportunity to bring people who normally wouldn’t make the trek Harrison county. There is a decent population of hot-rodders in the area and regular cruises at the local Hardees and other places have been the norm in Cynthiana and surrounding areas.
Aside from the Boonesborough Boogie Nationals, the Cynthiana Rod Run is likely the largest non-judged event in Central Kentucky. With expectations that it will grow even more in coming years I’d bet it will definitely be the largest one-day Rod Run event around.
Noted stuff in here:
A very nice Gentlemen Jim edition GMC pickup
A twin-engined, AWD bug still in progress
Slick and classy Ford Crown Vic
A straight-piped, Detroit-powered ’82 Freightliner – the sound makes me weak in the knees
Twin-carb’d, 409-powered, primered ’55 Chevy
Enjoy
