Hole Fixing 101: Can Chad Fix A Cracked Starter Bolt Hole In His 454 Big Block Project?

Nope, not this Chad. We’re talking about Chad from Squarebody Stuff. He’s got a .060 over 454 block that he is planning to do a full rebuild on for a project, but first he needs to make a repair that he didn’t realize was needed. A week or so ago we shared a video of him putting freeze plugs in this block, but realized we forgot to share the first video which was this starter bolt hole repair. What’s funny is that I had a friend call me and ask about how to repair a starter bolt hole recently and I told him to watch this video for one option. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Chad’s got some fun projects and since we are also going to start in on our own big block build, it’s interesting to watch what he’s got going on.

Video Description:

After getting my 454 block back from the machine shop, I found this problem. A cracked starter bolt hole. Not the machine shops fault, it just got over looked by everyone. So I break out the welder to try and fix it.
