If you are in the mood or the market to add electric exhaust cutouts to your car, Hooker may just have the answer you need. The company has released their new Street Tease exhaust cutouts and what makes these babies cool are the quality construction, great TIG welding, and the fact that the cutouts are operated with a simple wireless FOB, and in terms of power? Well that is even easier because the whole thing plugs into a 12v socket in your car.
Exhaust cut outs, dumps, or whatever you want to call them have been a part of the street/strip scene since its inception. Back in the day you would climb under the car and take the three bolts out of the cover that kept the exhaust capped and roar as loudly as you wanted at the strip (or on the street). Then came the cable operated cutouts which were OK but in places where the weather was crummy they had a propensity to rust and generally fail after time. This new age of electronic cutouts is where’s it at. Why? Stainless steel construction means that they will not rot, quality sealed electric motors mean that they’ll work season after season, and the fact you can pop them with the push of a button makes ’em perfect for having some fun on the street when the situation warrants it and then closing them up before Johnny Law gets on your case. These are cool and if you need exhaust cut outs, Street Tease is a product to shop!
Here’s the story from Holley –
Holley is pleased to announce the release of Hooker Street Tease Exhaust Cut-Outs, which convert your exhaust to race mode quickly and easily, eliminating the hassle of crawling under your vehicle each time you want to make a switch. With just the flick of a remote button or toggle switch, the throaty exhaust tone from street cruising is replaced by instant performance for the track. They’re available in four configurations – 2.5-inch singleand dual exhaust, and 3-inch single and dual exhaust – and manufactured from stainless steel and aluminum for maximum corrosion-resistance and years of trouble-free service. The tubing is TIG-welded T-304 stainless steel, and the motor and valve bracket are made of 6061 aircraft aluminum. Dual kits include a Y-cable for simple wiring and simultaneous valve operation. Single kits have a toggle switch to operate the valves; dual kits use a remote for valve operation. A simple 12 volt cigarette lighter plug-in is used for power.
Hooker branded ebay/Amazon China flea market parts? They aren’t the only ones doing shit like this either. When I pay a premium for a part from a well known company, I don’t expect the same part I can get off eBay for a less money. Buckle up folks, the performance parts industry is getting a taste of what happens when an equity firm uses an aquired well known brand name to “Maximize profits”.
Your absolutely right. I wish this would have been posted 3 weeks ago. I checked ebay and they look just like Hookers.
Who do you think makes the best quality ones
China
So if these are the same ones that are on Ebay mine as well save money and buy the Ebay ones?
Hope you like rice with your \”Brand Name Performance Parts\” – this is just the beginning. The sad part is that people are buying this crap – and making the investors enough money to keep the smoke and mirrors game going. Rise up and demand better!
